Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is a drug-free, non-surgical science. Chiropractic is a holistic practice, therefore, treatment extends beyond the time spent in the doctor's office. Along with massage and chiropractic adjustments, doctors of chiropractic also recommend a program of stretching, exercise, good nutrition, and lifestyle changes to promote better overall health.

Chiropractic is a primary health care profession that diagnoses, treats, and prevents neuromuscular disorders. Chiropractors assess joint stability and function to determine the nature of musculoskeletal disorders. When neurological symptoms are present, (for example, tingling sensation in the fingertips or shooting pain down the back of the leg) the main area of focus is the vertebral column. Chiropractic treatment involves joint manipulation (adjustments), soft tissue work, rehabilitation through exercises, and general health and lifestyle counseling.

Chiropractic care works by strengthening and balancing the nervous system in order to promote healthy functioning of the body. Your nervous system consists of your brain, spinal cord, and all the nerves of your body, and it controls the function of virtually every cell, tissue, organ, and body system. If the nervous system is compromised or over-taxed, pain and dysfunction can result, not only in the spine, but in other parts of the body as well.
